Houston Restaurant Weeks

This Saturday kicks off Houston Restaurant Weeks and I am excited to see this wonderful tradition being carried on. Back in May, the events founder Cleverley Stone passed away from cancer and it left a hole in the heart of Houston’s culinary scene. The event which started back in 2003 used to take place over the course of a week and has now evolved to a month long smorgasbord. Houston Restaurant Weeks is a collaboration of restaurants across the city offering a multi-course pre-fixed menu for both lunch and dinner service. $1 from each meal goes directly to the Houston Food Bank, so make sure you get out there and check out some new spots you’ve been wanting to try. To date, the event has raised over $9.6 million in donations to fight hunger and it is because of foodies like you and the participation of so many great restaurants. It is things like this that make Houston such a beautiful city. Be sure to start planning your month now. You can find menus for all of the participating restaurants at www.HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com.
